COHO berowra

Brand Design & Development

Client: CoHo Berowra

CoHo Berowra, is a café nestled in the heart of Berowra, Sydney, Australia. In 2016, I worked with CoHo to craft a distinctive brand identity. The project encompassed cohesive branding for store signage, menus, and packaging. Their philosophy ‘Good food with no regrets. We believe in balance, and local sustainable produce.’ The goal was to create a unique, friendly identity that reflected their philosophy and would resonate with the local community.

Logo

The hand-drawn logotype "CoHo" conveys a natural, distressed charm that enhances its bold presence, ensuring it stands out effortlessly. This intentional ruggedness not only adds a touch of authenticity but also carries a sense of approachable friendliness. Complemented by a rich Dark Blue hue, helping to communicating values of honesty and loyalty.

Fern Leaf Icon

I designed the spiral fern icon as a way of adding to the natural feel of the identity. As the fern is common Australian flora, it helped to reflect pride in the local area, a respect for the environment, sustainability and healthy food. The spiral and Mint Green was chosen to reinforce this, as it both suggest growth, life and the natural world.

Strapline

‘We love food that makes you happy!’ I felt it was a nice sentiment that reflected their mission. Making it all about their customers yet implying the excellent quality of the food and service. It tastes great, and makes you feel great.
