honor immortal

Clothing Label: Limited Edition, Hand Screen Printed T-Shirts

A passion project, influenced by skateboarding/street brands like SUPREME and ALIFE from New York. I wanted test myself by creating my own brand and executing it. At the time I felt a lot of brands were producing expensive poor-quality t-shirts. I wanted challenged this by producing cool, better quality, affordable t-shirts, whilst attempting to make them as ethically and sustainably sourced as possible.

I sourced organic t-shirts supplied by Rapanui, excellent quality, ethically and sustainably produced nearby on the Isle of White. I hand screen-printed them locally using environmentally friendly inks. I set up the screens and printed some myself, enlisting experienced help for the rest. All the finishing and packaging were as sustainable as possible.

I wanted the brand to be simple bold and graphically striking, with attitude and edginess. Something that could translate across multiple styles/markets. I developed an icon, and two logotypes a core one, and an alternative ‘classical’ one. Part of my initial concept for the brand was to use historical references. I adopted the historical messaging “Live by the sword, die by the sword” which refers to ‘karma’, however I wanted to twist it a bit, making it relevant to the HONOR IMMORTAL brand name, meaning ‘to live and die fighting for what you believe’. I customised the classically based Times New Roman font, calling it Hard Times. I reduced the curves, giving it harder edges and points for the serifs.

I created a variety of graphic assets to use for the t-shirts, stickers and finishings. I photographed the t-shirts myself and I built an online store to sell them. They were very successful and sold across the UK and Australia.
